Embracing a new beginning, I took a leap of faith to follow my dreams. My journey is one of faith, family, and service.
After spending over 20 years in Richmond, Virginia, I met Clinton, an amazing man who lived in Oxford, North Carolina. We fell in love and got married in July 2018. Since I was working remotely at the time, my son and I decided to move to Oxford, North Carolina. Benjamin has always been a country boy stuck in the city, so it was a great decision for us. With a new marriage and a new home base, it was the right time to try something new.
Before making the move, I had worked in various roles at Bank of America and Capital One, managing everything from call centers to process management and supply chain operations. My work required a high level of organization, project management, and relationship building. At the same time, I was raising my son Benjamin, who faced learning challenges that required extra support and advocacy. Balancing a demanding career and motherhood was not easy, but my faith, my family, and my determination to provide a stable, loving home for my son kept me going. It was a lot to take on, but when you are in it, you just get it done.
After moving to North Carolina, the company I worked for decided to bring everyone back to the office, which would have meant a two-hour commute. That was my sign to shift gears. I took on a new challenge as COO for a faith-based direct sales company, Sanctuary Girl (now known as Armored Soul), where I helped lead the company to a million dollars in sales in our first year. As the world shifted with COVID, I found myself reflecting on what I truly wanted for my future.
My own journey with homeownership sparked my passion for real estate. I bought my first home at 24, and over the years, I have owned five homes, navigating everything from buying as a single woman, to purchasing with a spouse, to rebuilding my credit after divorce. I know firsthand what it is like to face setbacks and start over, and I believe that with faith, a solid plan, time and consistent follow-through, anyone can become a homeowner.
In 2008, I earned my license but never practiced because of the crash. In 2021, I decided to take the leap and apply my corporate skills and lived experiences to walk people through the buying and selling process. That first year was very hard. However, my husband was very supportive, and I felt in my heart this was the right path.

Steadily, my business grew, and with each relationship I formed, the work became more and more meaningful. I truly believe God was guiding me and putting the right people in my path. I feel a responsibility to educate my clients, be there to support them through these transitions, and serve as their trusted advocate. Real estate is not just my career; it is my calling, my ministry, and my way of helping others build the life they dream of.
In 2025, I opened The Real Estate Co. NC|VA, and today I am proud to work alongside great agents who share my values and the level of service I want our clients to experience. My goal is to provide the mentorship and guidance I wish I had when I first started my career. We are really more like a family, supporting one another and wanting to help each other grow. I also regularly host community first-time homebuyer seminars to empower people with the knowledge and confidence they need to take that first step. What I love most about real estate is the opportunity to truly change lives – helping families build, protect, and pass down generational wealth.

Outside of work, I love to read, bake, spend time near the ocean, and enjoy quality time with family and friends.
My clients appreciate that I bring a lot of heart, enthusiasm, and expertise to the real estate process. I believe knowledge is power, which is why I make it a priority to educate my clients at every step, ensuring you understand what is happening, what your options are, and what to expect next. I’ve worked with clients for over a year to help them achieve their dream of homeownership, and I never shy away from a challenge. I truly believe that with faith, commitment to follow a strategic plan, homeownership is not just possible; it is inevitable. I am so passionate about this work because I know firsthand how owning a home can transform your life, create financial stability, and improve your overall well-being.
As your trusted real estate professional, I offer a concierge-style approach tailored to your unique needs. Whether you are a first-time homebuyer, relocating from out of state, or navigating the sale of an inherited property, I provide hands-on support from start to finish. I coordinate everything from connecting you with trusted lenders and inspectors to managing repairs, staging, and even remote closings for clients who can’t be present in person. My goal is to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible, serving as your advocate, educator, and problem-solver every step of the way.
Sincerely,
Angela Hanks
